Sound Healing in the Andean Shamanic Tradition
ONLINE COURSE

In the Andean shamanic tradition, the power of sound, vibration, and frequencies are foundations we must understand to restore and maintain balance in mental, emotional, and physical health.

In this online course, a seventh-generation yachak (shaman) teaches, shares, and practices with English speakers his own indigenous people's "sound healing" philosophy and tools used in shamanic ceremonies from pre-Incan to modern times.

Class 1, November 6

In shamanic sound healing work, the sound healer is the primary instrument who channels the healing energies of nature to the client. Any other instrument is only an extension of the sound healer. For this reason, the effective sound healer must learn how to cleanse themselves and stay in balance with pachamama and the four natural elements. Fine tuning of our most important sound healing instrument is the first step, so this first class is devoted to learning the indigenous shamanic codes for connecting with each of the four elements and keeping ourselves finely-tuned as a clear channel.

Class 2, November 13

In this class, Tayta Willak introduces and demonstrates the sound healing instruments (including the voice) commonly used in Andean shamanic healing ceremonies. We learn how to recognize and take the time to make an intimate connection with our instruments, using all our senses as well as our heart.

Class 3, November 20

This class introduces the three pachakuna of the human body and how the frequencies, vibrations, and pitch of each instrument family as well as vocalizations can unblock, heal, and balance spritual energy stored in the upper hanakpacha, midsection kaypacha, and lower ukupacha regions of the body.

Class 4, December 4

Now we focus on the sound healer's preparation before each sound healing session. We learn how to create a personal altar to help us focus our intention. We learn how to use personal rituals and silence to enhance our intuitive senses and detect invisible frequencies. We learn how the aroma of specific plants or oils can enhance the quality of the session. With our primary instrument in tune with nature, and well-prepared for the individual session, the sound healer is now ready to conduct a powerful sound healing session with spontaneity, following our honed intuition that will guide us in the most effective use of various sound healing instruments for this individual client.

Class 5, December 11

In our final class, each participant will demonstrate a brief sound healing session using their own instruments based on what they have learned in this course. After these demonstrations, the class will  share their experience of the course, discuss aspects of what they have learned, and Tayta WIllak will answer any remaining questions.

Using ancient, modern, and musical instruments from nature, the voice and the body, this yachak (Andean shaman) draws on the spiritual energy of the condor, mountains, pachamama, and the four natural elements to help his own indigenous community members maintain good physical, emotional and mental health "in tune" with nature. Tayta Willak now shares his ancestral knowledge with â€‹â€‹English-speaking online course participants.

The five class sessions for this course are scheduled from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm GMT-5 Ecuador time zone on Wednesday Novermber 6, November 13, November 20, December 4, and December 11.
